'Til the Cows Come Home

...I'll be running!

I ran a little under the required 13 miles on Saturday. I felt pretty good considering I only ran a total of 8 miles during the week.

But this week its not really about how much I ran, its about what happened on the run... It rained, not a soaking rain, but enough to fog my glasses, and make it difficult to see well. After a yelling/barking match with a gum and teeth baring mutt (I did this twice 'cause the run required two loops) I had finally settled my heart rate as I peaked a small hill. And there it was.

Not being able to see perfectly, I was not really sure what it was. I mean, do they have moose in Volney? Then it made its move and began lumbering toward me. I immediately crossed the street and slowed to a walk (yes, I know Sam- this is not much slower than my run, but it made me feel better). I still had not identified the large looming creature and my heart rate was back up. I was beginning to wonder how much adrenaline my body would tolerate in one ten minute period. And then it bellowed....

MOOOOW!

A friggen cow. My grandparents would be ashamed...

It's funny to me that all NY is known for is the city to out of towners, cause I can not even picture a COW anywhere in NY! Next time you run be really quiet, and hopefully it will be sleeping so you can tip it over...

good job. we were wondering how you did. the gang did really well at the race. they also got wet. i had to work so, didn't get out till sunday. this week will be a good one. no rain and cool. now for abby, we here in upstate ny kind of get ...hummm..not sure the word to use, but here where we live there are no towers(except cell phone ones). and we have tons of cows. just not in the road as a rule.
